1997 Gibson Les Paul Standard, Heritage Sunburst
Excellent Gibson Les Paul from the late nineties in superb Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish complete with its original hardshell case. The late nineties was a great period for the Gibson USA range with some excellent instruments being produced. The guitar is in lightly played condition with an eye-catching Heritage Sunburst nitrocellulose finish and two powerful stock Gibson pickups.
Featuring the classic Les Paul recipe of a Mahogany body with carved Maple cap, Mahogany neck with bound Rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid position markers. Les Paul’s from this era feature a round medium C-shaped profile neck with this one measuring 21.57mm at the 1st fret and 24.96mm at the 12th with a nut width of 43.40mm. The stock humbuckers offer great tonal versatility, with the 490R neck pickup featuring Alnico II magnets and a vintage voice, whilst the Alnico V magnet 498T bridge pickup is overwound for extra power and clarity. The Pickups measure 7.33K and 13.16K in the neck and bridge respectively and balance very well.
The guitar is in great condition, the top is near blemish free. The back and sides have the odd nick and bruise but nothing unsightly. The headstock has localised lacquer checking typical of the period. The original frets have plenty of life and the guitar plays well set up with 10 gauge strings.
An excellent condition USA made Les Paul Standard from a good period of manufacture. The guitar weighs 9.8lbs and comes shipped in its original Gibson case.
