Description
Limited Edition and released in 1991 the 40th Anniversary Les Paul was offered conjunction with a 30th Anniversary SG/Les Paul Custom model, with production limited to 300 guitars each.
The guitar features a mahogany body with carved maple top, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, trapezoid inlays with 40th Anniversary engraved at the 12th fret, P-100 pickups with cream covers, gold plated Gibson Kluson tuners, Nashville bridge and tailpiece and cream pickguard.
The guitar is in excellent ++ condition was previously owned by a private collector and as such has seen very little if any playing and spent the majority of it’s life in it’s case. Pot codes read to early 1991. The guitar plastics have yellowed sightly from being kept inside the case but this seems consistent with other examples we have seen. Weighing in at 10.5 lbs the guitar has a great deal of sustain unplugged with the combination of P-100 pickups and ebony fingerboard gives the instrument an upfront, biting tone. A great sounding guitar it is bright but never cutting on the bridge pickup with a deep, rounded rhythm pickup.
The guitar is offered with its original pink-lined Gibson case, owners manual, assorted hangtags and paperwork.
