Super cool Limited Edition Fender Custom Shop ’62 Stratocaster Relic with Unicorn Spec Slab Maple Fingerboard, Dirty Shell Pink Relic Finish, Handwound Custom Shop Bone Tone Pickups and Gold Hardware throughout!

Featuring a two piece ’62 Spec body made with Alder that was sorted for weight and finished in a very vibey Dirty Shell Pink finish with some tasteful ageing to the nitrocellulose finish. The neck is where the specs deviate from the traditional spec with the rift sawn maple neck topped with a slab Maple neck instead of the customary rosewood. The 21 fret neck has had the lacquer removed from the back of the neck for a smooth played in feel and the fingerboard has some great looking simulated fingerboard wear. Frets are narrow tall 6105s and the fingerboard has a compound 7.25-9.5 radius. The profile is Fenders 60 style oval C and measurements are 20.74mm at the 1st fret tapering to 24.84mm at the 12th with a comfortable 41.27mm nut width. The electronics are mounted to a 3-ply pickguard with the screw holes in the ’62 position and feature a trio of Handwound Fender Custom Shop Bone Tone Pickups. The Bone Tone Pickups rare to find, and the fact this beautiful example of a Fender Custom Shop is loaded with them is a real treat. They were the same set featured in the highly acclaimed Custom Shop Limited Edition Gary Moore Stratocaster, delivering great articulation and punchy dynamics this set is highly sort after. The pickups combine bevelled Alnico II magnets and heavy formvar wire and measure 5.59K 5.54K and 5.49K in the Neck, Middle and Bridge respectively. The hardware is gold plated, a custom order option in the sixties just as it is today, the finish has been aged to give the hardware a balanced appearance to the body and neck. The guitar is one of the lighter weight Custom Shop Strat we’ve had through sitting at 7.4lbs or 3.38Kg on the scales.

A great playing guitar with a spec that takes it away from tradition ’62 Spec without deviating too far from the great feeling Custom Shop Recipe. This Limited Edition Guitar Comes with the Limited Edition Case and Certificate
