2016 Fender American Special Jazzmaster, Ocean Turquoise
Super cool, Fender Jazzmaster Special. This Limited Edition model was part of Fenders 2016 Magnificent Seven range, a series of 7 modded classics models. Stripped back and Stylish the Jazzmaster Special was offered in Candy Apple Red, Ocean Turquoise and Olympic White.
Featuring an offset Jazzmaster body in Alder, the body is finished in Gloss Ocean Turquoise with a Bigsby B50 instead of the traditional Jazzmaster Vibrato. The Maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium Jumbo frets, 9.5” radius and a smooth Satin finish. Pickups are Pure Vintage ’65 Jazzmaster pickups, Fenders authentic mid-sixties Jazzmaster pickup wired up to a simple volume and tone control with three-way switch. The Bridge is a ABR-1 style and in an uncharacteristic touch a Bigsby B50 vibrato tailpiece replaces the standard Jazzmaster Vibrato.
The guitar is in great playing condition, there are the odd mark and bump to the finish as can be evidenced in the photos but there is nothing to detract from the overall appearance of the guitar. Pickups sound great with a clean-and-clear vintage-style tone with an edgy snarl when pushed. The neck is a very approachable C profile and the frets have minimal wear.
The guitar comes with its original, black Tolex case.
