Made in limited numbers in 2005 as part of Fender Custom Shop's Tribute Series, we are delighted to offer for sale this stunning Greg Fessler Master Built model, built to pay tribute to the first female artist to enter the US Billboard Chart, Mary Kaye.

The series was manufactured between 20th January and 31st December 2005 by Fender's top Master Builders at the time. Notable features include a set of Abigail Ybarra handwound single coil pickups, select ash body with a thin White Blonde nitrocellulose 'closet classic' finish, hard rock Maple neck and gold hardware. It also comes complete with the original case, certificates of authenticity and a copy of the 'Mary Kaye Trio' photo that was to forever associate Mary with Fender's white blonde, gold hardware Strat of the period.

The guitar is finished beautifully with a lightly aged, see thru white blonde finish showing the attractive grain of the select Ash body. The guitar weighs in at a very comfortable 7.7 lbs and is incredibly resonant. The '56 style soft V neck profile is a delight, and the guitar plays exceptionally well.

Plugged in the overall tone of the guitar is bright and well balanced. The treble pickup has a nice attack, punch and rounded top end without being too brittle. The neck pickup gives more warmth, harmonic richness and a nice 'throatiness' to the tone and thanks to the 5-way switch being installed there are many more sounds in between.

Overall this is not just a stunning Strat built by one of Fender's finest craftsmen Greg Fessler, it is a fantastic commemorative piece in celebration of an icon.
