Model Overview

Closely modelled by the luthiers at Epiphone after a 1963 Firebird owned by Joe Bonamassa, the Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa “Treasure” Firebird I is the fourth Bonamassa Signature model produced by the company.

Like the original it features a Mahogany body with a 9-piece Laminated Mahogany/Walnut neck and a period-correct early 1960s Rounded “C” profile. The rosewood fingerboard has 22 medium Jumbo frets with dot inlays and a 14”radius. To achieve the classic Firebird tone of the 60’s the single Epiphone ProBucker FB720 pickup has two Alnico II bar magnets used as blades in coils along with a steel reflector plate all wired to a single volume and tone control. The hardware consists of an adjustable wraparound “Lightning Bar” stoptail and Kluson Reissue Firebird banjo tuners.

The “Treasure” Firebird I comes in a Polymist Gold finish exclusive to Joe’s Signature Firebird and the instrument comes with it’s original gigbag and C.O.A.
