2016 Gibson Custom '58 Reissue Les Paul Standard Historic, Sunburst

Lovely, like new Gibson Custom 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue with a great looking figured Maple top framed with an authentic Washed Cherry VOS Sunburst finish. 

Featuring a solid, lightweight, single piece mahogany body, with a carved two-piece maple top that displays plenty of natural figuring from seam to binding. A one-piece mahogany neck carved with Gibson’s 58 profile and topped with a bound one-piece Dark Indian Rosewood fingerboard inlaid with cellulose trapezoid position markers. The body neck joint uses hot hide glue with period correct long neck tennon. The Finish is dubbed Washed Cherry by Gibson with Gibsons proprietary VOS Nitro-cellulose finish. Pickups are a set of the fantastic sounding un-potted CustomBucker with Alnico III magnets and authentic profile Nickel Silver Covers wired to 2 Volume and 2 Tone, CTS 500K Audio Taper Potentiometers with modern Bumblebee Capacitors and a Switchcraft 3-Way switch. Like the body, the Hardware has been given the a light ageing treatment with a Nickel plated  No-Wire ABR-1 Bridge and Lightweight Aluminium Stop Bar. Tuners are Kluson Single Line, single Ring, correct for 1958. The Plastics are all correct for era cream parts. Control Knobs are Amber Bonnet type and the Truss Rod Cover is an authentic Stepped 2-Ply Bell shape completing the specs.

The guitar weighs in at 9lbs even, it feels lightweight in the hand and lively and resonant when played acoustically. The original frets show little wear and the guitar plays effortlessly strung with gauge 10 strings. The neck is the larger profile measuring 23.35mm at the first fret filling out to 25.88mm at the 12th. The CustomBucker pickups measure 7.73K in the neck and 7.62K in the bridge.  The guitar comes with its original Gibson brown and pink case and Custom Shop certificate.
