2013 Gibson Custom Chris Cornell Signature ES-335, Satin Black, Limited Edition

Superb 2013 Gibson Custom Chris Cornell Signature ES-335 in Satin Black. The Soundgarden frontman spec’d out his signature guitar with some awesome features including Lollartron pickups, Satin finishes, VOS hardware and no-number clear knobs. This guitar is number 213 of the run of 250 instruments offered in either Satin Black or Satin Olive drab with the Olive being offered with an optional Bigsby. 

The guitar is in excellent original condition and features a maple/poplar/maple laminate body with a maple center block.  The fingerboard is a particularly nice piece of Indian Rosewood with dot inlay position markers. The Headstock has the traditional ES-335 Crown and Gibson Logo inlayed in pearl. The Mahogany neck has a comfortable slim, rounded C profile with a measurement at the 1st fret of 20.38mm and the 12th of 22.66. Nut width is 43.04m. The pickups are excellent sounding Lollar Lollartrons with aged covers and  DC readings of 5.3K and 4.42K in the bridge and neck respectively. The Nickel hardware has been treated to Gibsons VOS ageing process that matching the satin aesthetic perfectly. The plastics are all in great shape with the wide bevel pickguard, black pickup surrounds and unique clear, no-number bonnet knobs completing the look. 

The guitar is in fantastic original condition, the satin finish despite being hard wearing can be buffed to a gloss finish with extensive use but this guitars finish is nicely uniform. It has been played and there are light signs of play wear throughout. The guitar plays very well with and easy action. Sonically the Lollartron pickups give the guitar a unique character with plenty of the classic Filter’Tron clarity and punch with a strong top end that never sounds thin or spiky.
