Stunning condition Gibson 30th Anniversary Les Paul Standard from 1983. Always a popular model here at V’n’R and now highly sought after the 30th Anniversary Les Paul Standard was released in 1982 to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the the Les Paul Model with a marketing campaign featuring Les Paul himself.
In essence the 30th Anniversary guitars are an early reissue of a 57’/’58 Goldtop with Gibson reverting to many of the historic features that made these vintage examples so desirable. In comparison to the regular production Les Paul Standard of the early eighties the Anniversary guitars featured a small headstock, 17 degree headstock angle, deep carve to the maple top, accurate ‘Goldtop’ finish, ABR-1 bridge, “Kluson” Deluxe tuners, small binding in the cutaway and the now legendary Tim Shaw PAF pickups. The guitars were individually serial numbered and prefixed A, B and C and featured a subtle 30th Anniversary engraved at the 19th fret.
Our example is in fantastic collectors grade condition, all original it features two wonderful sounding Tim Shaw Pickups. Stamped 137183 in the neck and 138 882 in the bridge. Volume Pots read 1378029 with the tone pots reading 1378252. A great playing instrument it features the optional one piece neck with a weight of 10.7lbs the guitar is in as good a condition as these get with no greening to the Goldtop finish, medium tint to the Mahogany back, dark Rosewood fingerboard and minimal wear to the original frets. The guitar comes complete with its original pink lined brown Gibson case.
