Description

Lovely and original, one-owner, natural finish Fender Stratocaster in excellent condition. One of the last guitars before Fender transitioned to black plastics during 1975. The guitar is in excellent condition throughout and comes with a charming, bespoke case made by the original owner's Father. The guitar comes with the original sales receipt and Fender hangtags.

Featuring an Ash body with original factory Natural finish with no additional routes or modifications. A maple neck with bullet truss rod, two string retainers and skunk stripe. Body and neck both have Fender codes and stamps as to be expected with the neck bearing an illegible green ink code to the neck butt. The electronics comprise of three Fender flush polepiece single coil pickups, 1974 and 1975 date codes, three late 1974 CTS pots and the original CRL 3-way switch and capacitor. All wiring is clean and appears 100% unmolested. Hardware comprises of Schaller made Fender ‘F’ tuners, white plastic pickup covers and pickguard. The tremolo and saddles are the correct 1970’s units.

A lovely example of a guitar that has been played but has not been used for some time. The original frets show wear but the guitar plays well. Overall the guitar is nice and clean with only some light tarnishing to the screws. The neck is a comfortable C shape with a 41.11mm nut width, 21.37mm depth at the 1st fret and 23.58mm at the 12th. The original pickups sound great and work particularly well with a Fender amp from the era. The bridge and middle pickups are clear and crisp with the neck pickup still exhibits the traditional warmth. The pickups measure 5.47K, 5.5K and 5.44K from neck to bridge.

An attractive, clean 70s Strat in excellent condition.
