Description

Excellent 1999 Guild D-55N - a top-tier USA made Guild dreadnought renowned for its rich tone, premium craftsmanship, build quality and excellent value. This model is in very good overall condition, with minor cosmetic play wear—evidence of a well-loved instrument that’s been well maintained.

This guitar has a lovely tight grained Sitka Spruce top that provides clarity and punch, paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides for warmth and rich overtones. The Ebony fingerboard and bridge contribute to the guitar's bright and articulate response, perfect for fingerstyle playing or flat-picking. Guild’s craftsmanship is impeccable, and this model reflects their attention to detail with beautiful Abalone V-block inlays and Ivoroid binding adding to its aesthetic charm.

It's in very good overall condition showing some dings to the top and play wear visible in the lacquer on the neck and forearm area — characteristic of a guitar that's been well-played but cared for. The top has nicely 'honeyed' and the guitar overall feels played-in and very comfortable. The saddle height is 3mm on the bass side and 3.5mm on the treble side, providing a nice action and good playability across the neck.

The Guild D-55 stands out in the used guitar market as a high-quality, American-made instrument that delivers well beyond its price point, and this model is no exception.
