1964 Gibson ES-335 TDC, Cherry, Bigsby
Stunning, original '64 Gibson ES-335 TDC in a very attractive, vibrant dark cherry finish.
A very cool looking, factory Bigsby B7 model with a reinstated, repro/aged "Custom Made" plate fitted over two factory tailpiece thimbles. This gives the option of converting to stopbar with ease if required, but we love the look and feel of the original B7 and the versatility it brings.
The guitar is in excellent overall condition having had little use over the years. It retains an original, vibrant, deep cherry finish (with no touch ups/overspray) as well as its original frets and nut - all indications that this guitar has spent a lot of its life in its case.
The tuners are like for like replacements - a mix of Kluson and Gibson branded, double-ring style. It has one correct Pat Sticker humbucker at the neck and a slightly later T-Top humbucker at the bridge. The bridge is an original wired nickel ABR-1 (wire removed) with 4 nylon saddles and 2 nickel (A & D string.)
The loom is original with two 'black beauty' Sprague caps and 4 CTS pots from '64. The earth has been modified at some point likely when it was played with a stoptail, but is now reinstated through the original earth route to the Bigsby.
The neck profile is a nicely rounded 'C' with a perfect amount of depth to the profile making the guitar incredibly playable and one that will appeal to many.
The tone on the Pat. sticker neck pickup is incredible! 'Woody' and rich in harmonics with a fairly modest output and excellent clarity when driven. The T-Top at the bridge has a really nice bite and cut to it and both are balanced very well.
All in all this is a stunning, rare instrument in excellent shape. Complete with original case.
