Incredibly rare Rickenbacker 360F Capri in stunning original condition. This guitar is one of just sixteen Mapleglo finish 360F models made in 1960, and one of forty Mapleglo models made overall in this guise according to Rickenbacker factory invoices.

The Rickenbacker 360F made its catalogue debut in 1959 however half a dozen or so models were produced for trade shows in '58. Features included a 17" wide, 2.5" deep Chequerboard bound Maple body, three piece Maple/Walnut/Maple neck, two "Toaster" style Rickenbacker pickups, split level gold painted clear Lucite pickguard with four "catseye" or "cooker" control knobs, single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners and a flat tailpiece.

This example plays very well with its slim 'D' profile neck and plenty of height remaining to the frets. The tone on the neck pickup is percussive, warm and sumptuous while retaining the classic Rickenbacker attack. The bridge pickup offers more of the Ricky twang and top-end but retains a really nice broad 'fullness' to the tone. Overall it's a very versatile guitar and one that we've found very difficult to put down!

The original CTS pots all date to the 6th week of 1960, and it has a very low serial number for the year. Having been stored in its case by the original owner's family for most of its life this guitar is in collector grade condition and all original besides a changed E-string bushing.

Without doubt this is one of the finest examples we have seen and it represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a historic Rickenbacker model in collector grade condition. Comes complete with its original plush red-lined, green/grey hard shell case.
