Great players Gibson Memphis ES-335 from 2013 in a vibrant Cherry finish. Produced in the now closed yet highly regarded Memphis factory ES-335’s produced in this era are becoming sought after thanks to the the good quality of materials and construction. This guitar has a well repaired, stable headstock crack and some associated finish work otherwise is a great playing, clean ES-335 with very little wear.
The guitar features a Maple top, back and sides with a Mahogany neck, the fingerboard is a particularly nice dark piece of Indian Rosewood with dot inlay position markers. The neck has a comfortable 60’s profile with a measurement at the 1st fret of 21.48mm and 23.10 at the 12th. Nut width is 42.25mm. The pickups are excellent sounding Gibson ’57 Classics with DC readings of 7.77 and 7.76 in the neck and the bridge positions respectively. The hardware is all vintage influenced and comprises of Grover Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, a Nashville ABR bridge and stopbar tailpiece, a wide bevel 3-ply pickguard, early sixties style reflector knobs and Catalin style switch tip.
The guitar plays well set up on 10’s with a lively acoustic ring, the pickups sound great with the ever consistent ’57 Classics delivering a wide range of useable tones that work well for all genres.
