Sweet Ampeg combo from the early 1960’s, a fantastic sounding amp, 2 6v6’s provide the power with 6sl7’s handling the pre-amp and a 5y3 rectifier. Fantastic cleans through the Jensen Concert C12R that are bold, clear and crisp with sweet compression as you increase volume up all the way to a sweet crunch. But that’s really not what these amps are about, it’s all about the reverb. Pipping Fender to the post by about a year the Ampeg reverb is big, lush and watery without burying the guitars tonal characteristics. The tremolo circuit isn’t as deep as some Fender alternatives but sound great none the less, similar to Gibsons smaller amps of the era.
